Upstream Raft Trade Is Not Available in the Demo
You cannot make a demo raft trade upstream. The October demo's river freight travels downstream only, so a route that requires the raft to return against the current is not supported. Auto-trade changes quantities, not that movement restriction.
The official County of Fortune demo FAQ also describes the announced solution: Early Access ports give access to sailboats capable of transporting products both upstream and downstream. As of November 1, the planned Early Access release is November 5, 2026.
Check Whether the Goods Can Use Land Instead
Not every product depends on a raft route. The FAQ describes land trade through markets in connected regions. A receiving raft port can also accept compatible lighter goods over land when the source region has a small market.
That does not provide an upstream workaround for every shipment. Heavy interregional products—logs, stone, clay, and sand—must move by river in the demo. A road or receiving-port arrangement for lighter goods does not override that restriction.
Plan Heavy Freight in the Supported Direction
Open Build a settlement and zoom into the river to inspect flow before choosing regional supply sites. For demo heavy freight, plan the source and destination around a usable downstream connection.
Then provide raft-port endpoints and configure the actual goods route in the T trade window. A compatible direction still requires available source stock and functioning infrastructure.
If the region you want to supply is upstream of its heavy-goods source, the obtained official guidance does not describe a demo command that reverses the raft. Reconsider the supply arrangement within the actual downstream geography rather than repeatedly changing the route quantity.
Keep the Sailboat Announcement in Its Stated Scope
The official FAQ says Early Access adds ports with sailboats and higher settlement progression, along with new classes, buildings, and products. It establishes that those vessels support both river directions.
It does not provide a complete port-unlock checklist, ship cost, or sailboat configuration tutorial in the obtained material. Those details should not be invented to turn an upcoming feature into a supposedly tested current unlock sequence.
Current October demo progress is intended to carry into the game, but that compatibility promise does not make Early Access-only transport available inside the demo.
FAQ
Can a raft go upstream if I disable auto-trade?
No. The demo restriction concerns raft direction, not whether the shipment quantity is automatic.
Can stone use a road instead?
Not between regions in the demo. Stone is one of the heavy products restricted to river freight.
What transport is announced for both directions?
Early Access ports and their sailboats are announced to carry products upstream and downstream.
Is the exact sailboat unlock process verified here?
No. The obtained official material confirms the transport capability, without supplying a complete tested unlock or purchase procedure.
